LANUDA Chair
Aluminum
Blumer Riccardo
Designed by Riccardo Blumer for Alias, LANUDA is an icon of formal and design experimentation. Made with ten sheets of aluminum only 2 mm thick, laser cut and perforated, it presents itself as a three-dimensional lattice that enhances the concept of extreme subtraction. Each element is reduced to the bare minimum, creating a lightweight structure, airy, yet decisive. The design, entirely in total black, accentuates geometric precision and returns a chair that looks like a technical drawing suspended in space. The lines multiply into complex shadows, transforming each point of view into a visual experience. LANUDA evolves the research already started with Laleggera (1996), moving from wood to aluminum and advancing the language of subtraction into a new dimension. A radical object that redefines the essence of sitting through the purest innovation.
