B-kini, designed by Paolo Rizzatto for Alias, is a cantilever chair that captures and reinterprets the rational elegance of the '30s with a technical and contemporary perspective. The continuous tubular steel structure supports a cantilevered seat, where constructive rigor meets carefully studied visual lightness. Seat and backrest are made of felt, joined by an elastic fabric insert for easy removal, providing dry and well-defined comfort. The slim profile and essential geometry are highlighted by the Gilco tubes, a special high-performance steel alloy developed for aviation: resistant to wear, temperature, and oxidation. Every design choice aims for the essential, balancing function and formal expression.
